Modernist architecture is often meant to express ideas about how people should live or how architecture can improve their lives. The Australian artist Kathy Temin applied these ideas to the design of homes for animals. She showed an "ideal home" as an animal shelter and asked the visitors to consider the difference between a “house” and a “home”.
