Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Video installation at Museo de Bellas Artes de Murcia (MUBAM) in Murcia
For this project Austrian artist David Rych facilitated an encounter between six juveniles in youth custody and six adults serving long-term prison sentences. The audience were afforded an insight into the individual perspectives of the participants shot videos of their daily life in incarceration, which were then shown to the respective other group.
