Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.
Manifesta 15 Barcelona took place in Barcelona and 11 surrounding cities of its metropolitan region.

Lithuanian artist Deimantas Narkevicius’s installation consisted of three films. These films provided a reflection about Lithuania and the Soviet Union, personal and collective history. The material and technology were Soviet while the cinematic style drew inspiration from both the propaganda film of the era of socialist realism, amateur video film and video art.
