Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.
Manifesta 15 Barcelona took place in Barcelona and 11 surrounding cities of its metropolitan region.

Mural at Casa Ciriza
The mural, reading "Please don't leave me" in Cyrillic, was a re-enactment of Bas Jan Ader's original work from 1969. Although Russian artist Oksana Pasaiko would resist any interpretation, the statement had a visceral power relating to our primal fear of being left alone.
