Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Manifesta 15 Barcelona took place in Barcelona and 11 surrounding cities ot its metropolitan region.

Institute for Postnatural Studies & Juan Pablo Pacheco Bejarano, ES

The Institute for Postnatural Studies (IPS) is a centre for artistic experimentation from which to explore and problematise postnature as a framework for contemporary creation. It is conceived as a platform for critical thinking, a network that brings together artists and researchers concerned with the ecological crisis through experimental formats of exchange, production and open knowledge. With a multidisciplinary approach, the IPS develops projects and research on various topics, such as contemporary ecologies, coexistence, politics and relationships with territories and ecosystems. It has developed numerous projects as well as curated exhibitions and public programmes. The institute’s academic programme offers seminars, courses and learning platforms, as well as an independent study programme. Its space in Madrid hosts artistic residencies, workshops, encounters and conferences.
