Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.
Manifesta 15 Barcelona took place in Barcelona and 11 surrounding cities ot its metropolitan region.

Diana Policarpo is a versatile visual artist and composer, renowned for her innovative work across a spectrum of mediums including drawing, video sculpture, text, performance, and multi-channel sound installation. Through her artistry, Policarpo delves into a diverse array of themes, exploring gender politics, economic structures, health and interspecies relations through speculative transdisciplinary research.
Her performances and installations serve as poignant examinations of vulnerability and empowerment within the capitalist landscape, offering insightful reflections on the human experience. Policarpo's work has garnered international acclaim, with solo presentations at prestigious venues such as Biennale Gherdëina, Helsinki Biennial, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Ocean Space in Venice and Whitechapel Gallery, ICA and LUX- Moving Image in London, among others.
Notable accolades include winning the Prémio Novos Artistas Fundação EDP 2019 and the Illy Present Future Prize 2021. With exhibitions spanning the globe, from Helsinki to Lisbon, Policarpo continues to captivate audiences with her thought-provoking and boundary-pushing artistic endeavours.
