Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Orla Barry, GB

Installation at Musée national d'histoire et d'art and C.P.C.A.

Orla Barry’s video installation was formed by three different pieces. The video projection "A tear for a glass of water", depicted a monologue taken from the Irish artist's book Bitter Peacock and was accompanied by large colour photographic portraits of the artist’s friends. In the C.P.C.A, the artist presented "Blue Vols", a series of publications of isolated texts.
