Intervention at Portikus exhibited at Frankensteiner Hof
In his practice, the Dutch artist Marc Bijl investigated the way that political statements functioned through ambiguous texts that are indistinguishable from genuine political messages. In this case, the artist wrote the letters of the word RESIST on the six columns of the iconic building of the Art Academy of Frankfurt Portikus. Though it may not have been the artist’s intention, this message might have served political or social causes specific to its context.
