Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Installation at Espacio AV in Murcia

The installation by the Spanish artist duo Jeleton was based on an archive belonging to the New York Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art as well as a personal archive which the artists had compiled since July 2009, a date established as the starting point of the events which led to this exhibition. The relocated archive allowed the viewer to compare the iconic and formal qualities of these images, folding together time and space, causes and consequences.
