Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Kim Hiorthøy, NO

Installation of posters exhibited at Casa Ciriza

Norwegian artist Kim Hiorthøy produced a wall collage of posters and graphics incorporating appropriated and self-produced images entwined with commentary. The artist’s imagery was reminiscent of 1960s and 1970s poster art, as well as the use of hand-colouring and animated special effects in early feature films.
