Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Peter Land, DK

Video installation at C.P.C.A.

In the basement of the C.P.C.A. Danish artist Peter Land presented his video installation in two parts. In one part, a film featured a man (the artist himself) who repeatedly falls down stairs. The continuous repetition made the act absurd, meaningless and even sad, as it represented continuous failure. In the other part, a starry sky appears in a seemingly immobile long-term temporality.
