Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

La verdad sobra esta obra is a two-channel video installation partly filmed on site in a mise en abym tradition. In this work Swedish-Ethiopian artist Loulou Cherinet explores notions of identity, displacement and the ritual of passage. A narrative unfolds at a slow pace. Aerial footage and landscapes that float past the camera intercut with occasional scenes of animals and human interaction. It evokes reflection about travel, confinement and the hopes and disappointments of migration.
