Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Johannes Vogl, DE

Light installation at Rovereto

This installation by German artist Johannes Vogl aimed to change the perception of an urban landscape by multiplying the natural phenomenon of a full moon. Attached to the arms of an almost invisible crane, four light-boxes with drawings of a full moon appeared on the horizon as if surreal engines of natural energy and construction sites of imagination.
