Manifesta 15 Barcelona announces Artistic Team

Hedwig Fijen founded Manifesta, the European Nomadic Biennial, in 1993. Under Fijen's direction, Manifesta, which will celebrate its 15^th edition in Barcelona in 2024, has become one of the most influential biennials in the world. During this period, Fijen has transformed the biennial from a contemporary art event to an interdisciplinary platform for social and cultural change.

Filipa Oliveira is the visual arts programmer and curator of the City of Almada in Portugal, in charge of the artistic direction of the Casa da Cerca Art Centre, the Municipal Art Gallery and the Capuchos Convent. She was, amongst a large array of other activities, the co-curator of the Coimbra Biennial in Portugal in 2021 and a curatorial assistant of the 28^th São Paulo Biennial.

Ariadna Amat Garcia is the Head of the Department of Culture within the municipality of Badalona. She has directed multidisciplinary cultural projects and is responsible, among others, for the contemporary art centre Josep Uclés, the Espai Betúlia and the Escorxador-Nau3 Cultural Centre.

Óscar Abril Ascaso is an artist, musician, cultural producer and Spanish art historian specialised in contemporary art and performance. He is currently curator of the Nau Estruch and coordinator of the Visual Arts Board of Sabadell.

Penélope Cañizares Bellido is a journalist, artist and curator with a background in the fields of writing, photography, documentary, cinema, theatre, dance and visual arts. Currently, she is a cultural management technician at the Cornellà City Council.

Cristina Castells Tort is the Head of Cultural Mediation at El Prat de Llobregat City Council and has extensive experience in the direction and management of cultural centres and local programmes linked to education and artistic and community mediation, such as IntersECCions and UNZIP Arts Visuals.

Andreu Dengra Carayol is a cultural management technician and coordinator of the visual arts programme and art centres of the Sant Cugat City Council. Dengra has written several publications on contemporary art, with a focus on tapestries and contemporary Catalan textile art.

Joan González Cano is an educator and cultural manager. He has worked as an educator in the field of formal and non-formal artistic education in many local entities and associations. González Cano is the director of the Can Sisteré Contemporary Art Centre and is part of the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council.

David Linares Ramos has been a cultural management technician at the Sant Adrià de Besòs City Council since 2003. Linares is active in the broader cultural scene and is the lead singer of the musical group Siete de Copas.

Mireia Mascarell is the superior cultural management technician of L'Hospitalet City Council. Mascarell has had a lengthy career in the coordination of contemporary artistic and creative projects, as well as in museological and museographic projects, having participated in projects in local, national and international contexts.

Raquel Morcillo is an art historian and responsible for the Visual Arts Residencies and Exhibitions programme at Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts in Granollers. She has worked as an exhibition and mediation project coordinator in both public and private cultural institutions in Catalonia and Italy.

Gisel Noè is the Head of Cultural Action at the Department of Culture at the Mataró City Council. Since 2013, she has also been the Director of M|A|C Mataró Contemporary Art, Centre of the Network of Visual Arts Centres of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Noè was previously part of the board of directors of Can Xalant, Creation Centre of Mataró (2006-2012).

Imma Vilches García is the Director of the Terrassa Visual Arts Department at the Terrassa City Council. Vilches is responsible for the programming of the three exhibition spaces: Sala Muncunill, ESPAIDOS and Sala Art Terrassa. All of them focus on contemporary artistic practices and curatorial projects.
