Hedwig Fijen, the Founding Director of Manifesta, was awarded a Medal of Merits by the President of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu

On Monday 20th of February, 2023 at a ceremony held in Prishtina, Hedwig Fijen, the Founding Director of Manifesta, was awarded a Medal of Merits by the President of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu.

As a part of the 15th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence, medals were granted to individuals and organisations who have contributed to Kosovo’s independence and to its society. Fijen was awarded for the work done by Manifesta 14 in 2022 and its significant ongoing contribution to placing Kosovo on the cultural map of Europe and beyond.

Currently, the GAP Institute is finalising the Public Survey they conducted throughout the biennial in order to analyse the impact that Manifesta 14 had on the citizens of Prishtina, the local economy and bringing international audiences to Kosovo, as well as the Return on Investment for the City of Prishtina.

Manifesta 14 is honoured and humbled to have received this award.
