Across the Border by Italian artist Filippo Minelli was a participatory project exploring migration and identity in the age of Big Data. Thirty flags were commissioned, to be designed by individuals (citizens, refugees and activists) living in countries linked to each other by the migration of their citizens and by the flux of digital information via Sicily’s internet infrastructure.
