Wu Tsang is a filmmaker and visual artist renowned for her versatile work spanning narrative and documentary films, live performances and video installations. A MacArthur "Genius" Fellow, Tsang has garnered numerous awards including the Guggenheim Fellowship (2016, film/video), a Hugo Boss Prize nomination (2018) and grants from Creative Capital as well as the Rockefeller, Louis Comfort Tiffany and Warhol Foundations. In 2004, she earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and, in 2010, an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Tsang currently resides as a theatre director at Schauspielhaus Zurich, collaborating with the Moved by the Motion collective. Her projects have been showcased worldwide at museums, biennales and film festivals.
