Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Performance at Casino Luxembourg, public spaces and hotel
In her performance, Spanish/Dutch artist Alicia Framis invited the visitors to sit next to her, have tea and chat. In her conversation, she offered them to be their “dreamkeeper” : to guard over their dreams and to talk to them before they fall asleep in their houses or hotel rooms. Through watching over a stranger's intimate moments, Framis shifted the boundaries of anonymity.
