Emphasising the colonisation of exhibition spaces by commodities, Claire Fontaine believes in claiming space for liberating and transformative uses. Their work invites the viewer to create meaning through curiosity and openness, sharing a space where possibilities emerge. Dedicated to resisting modern societal pressures and memory erosion, Claire Fontaine aims to provoke joy and support. Their work exists in the current world, challenging capitalist norms and promoting the use value of art. Emphasising experimentation and the fight against social repression, their creations strive to evoke emotions and intensities beyond language. Ultimately, Claire Fontaine’s work seeks to engage and empower the viewer, fostering a sense of shared hope and resilience.
