Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Eva Fàbregas' artistic practice revolves around the manipulation of soft and pliable materials, inviting tactile exploration, physical closeness and sensory connections. By working with materials that transcend biological boundaries, her work blurs the lines between human and the non-human, merging the organic with the inorganic.
In Fàbregas' creative process, touch plays a pivotal role. Her sculptures elude conventional categorisation. Rather than imitating something that already exists, her forms come from mutation, combination and multiplication, and allow visitors to enter into a speculative landscape. Rooted in the somatic and experiential realms, her work taps into primal instincts.
By immersing viewers in a somatic landscape, Fàbregas seeks to evoke a pre-linguistic state that helps us imagine other possible bodies, other ways of feeling, caring and being in the world.
