Within the international textile art renewal movement of the 1960s, Aurèlia Muñoz's work stands out for its originality and innovative use of materials and techniques, primarily textiles and paper.
From the 1960s until 2011, Muñoz created small and medium-sized three-dimensional sculptures, as well as large installations for public and private architecture, both indoors and outdoors, in European, American and Japanese cities. Today, her work is recognised by scholars, collectors and museums, and can be found in public and private collections worldwide. In recent years, her work has gained special attention due to exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona as well as support from galleries in Madrid and Barcelona.
