The larger-than-life black and white photographs in Polish artist Piotr Jaros’ series Embracing showed people at once ordinary and extraordinary, in a tender relationship with each other, their sexual identity and position undefined. Their staged poses indicated a certain ceremonial purpose though this purpose was not explicit.
