Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Manifesta 6 was cancelled by the President of the Greek Part of Cyprus

Erick Beltrán, MX

Mexican-Spanish artist Erick Beltrán asked visitors to participate in an analytical game reflecting on modes of production. Beltrán concluded that depending on how the construction material was used, an object could be described in terms of six model forms: a piece that folds, binding folds, a folded piece cut, folded pieces with multiple sections, specialist units and modular units. The installation provided a reflection on how the meaning of an assemblage is shaped by its production process.
