Kajsa Dahlbergs conceptual work for Manifesta 8 consists of a collection of 400 postcards, sent to Sweden from Jerusalem over the past hundred years. The postcards are categorised and displayed according to the content of the messages they contain. They draw on a wide range of relationships, friendships and ideological projections on to the city of Jerusalem. They include news from the first generation of Jewish immigrants who were seeking a land of new possibilities, and brief texts recounting the political situation of the city today. Dahlberg¿s installation is like a souvenir of hope and a wave of nostalgia.
