Manifesta 15 launches its Open Call

News,

Manifesta 15 has launched its Open Call for local projects for the biennial programme. We had the pleasure of hosting the event at Manifesta 15’s headquarters for a wide range of actors from the cultural, architectural and environmental scene of the metropolitan region. Students and professionals from different fields gathered at the former Editorial Gustavo Gili to get to know the guidelines of the Manifesta 15 Barcelona Open Call.

The founder of Manifesta, Hedwig Fijen, together with the communities coordinator of Manifesta 15 Barcelona, Fernando Paniagua, presented the main topics and framework of this edition. They encouraged artists, architects, scientists, designers and educators – either individuals, collectives, institutions or associations – to apply and to propose innovative ideas to face the socio-ecological transition to participate.

Manifesta 15 highlighted its interest in inviting a broad array of local initiatives to apply to the Open Call and to think beyond the realm of traditional visual art formats to tackle issues ranging from urban development, decolonisation to social inclusion and the climate transition that can create a positive impact for local communities.

A jury will review all applications and will proceed to select between 10 to 15 projects which will be offered funding ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 euros.

These projects will be part of the main biennial programme and will be presented across the 12 municipalities which will host Manifesta 15 from the 8th of September to the 24th of November 2024.

Apply via sending your application to [email protected] before Friday the 1st of December 2023. If you have any questions, we will hold two information evenings on the 17th of October, at 18.30 at the former Gustavo Gili Publishing House, and on the 24th of October, at 18.30 online.
