International Foundation Manifesta and the Regionalverband Ruhr have signed the articles of association and founded Manifesta 16 Ruhr GmbH

The International Foundation Manifesta (IFM) and the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) signed the articles of association on Thursday the 17th of November 2022 and founded Manifesta 16 Ruhr GmbH. As the implementing foundation, it is to prepare, organise and implement the 16th edition of the European Nomadic Biennial in the Ruhr Area in 2026.

The 16th edition asks the question on an artistic and social level how global logistics with new trade routes, digital economies and changed working conditions affect Europe. The application process for Manifesta 16 was initiated by a cross-city initiative by well-known creative artists and institutions in the Ruhr Metropolis. The planning and implementation of this major event is made possible by the generous support of the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Regionalverband Ruhr, the RAG Foundation, the E.ON Foundation, the Kunststiftung NRW, the Brost Foundation and the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach Foundation. In addition, the budget committee of the German Bundestag decided a few days ago that the federal government will also support Manifesta in the Ruhr area.
